Time: 15-16 March 2008

Location: Beijing

Contents:

From 15 to 16 March, the British Council successfully ran the wish tree programme in Dong Hua Shi Nan Li Community and Da Shan Zi Community in Beijing. The two-day event attracted more than 1,000 local residents in total, who were so enthusiastic and happy to join. They wrote down their worries and wishes on a small card and attached it to the big poster of the wishing tree. The atmosphere on site was highly enjoyable.

Through its creative and participative methodology, the wish tree programme offers a new way of listening to the community residents and understanding what they need. The cards filled by the residents have been collected for further analysis and summary. A final report will be produced and submitted to relative governmental body as valuable reference with the objective of better serving the commuties.

The backdrop says:"Hearts with Olympic flowers blooming
Hearts with wish tree flourising"
