20 November 2008 is Social Enterprise Day: a national day to celebrate and promote social enterprise.

Social enterprises are businesses set up to tackle a social or environmental need. Social Enterprise Coalition is launching a national competition across England to find the best photographs that show how social enterprise is transforming lives.

"Maybe you work for or volunteer at a social enterprise, or maybe you or someone you know has benefited from one - take a photo that captures how social enterprises are changing the world one community at a time - we want to hear from the people who experience it every day. "

Winners will be announced on Social Enterprise Day. There will be prizes for the photographer and the featured social enterprise.

The winner and runner-up will each get:

- Their photographs published in a special feature in The Big Issue magazine with potential for further promotion
-
Have their photos exhibited at Voice09, the landmark event for social enterprise, as well as two tickets to attend.
- The social enterprise featured in the photograph will receive a new digital camera.

Discover Social Innovation website will bring you the awarded photos as soon as the winners are announced.
