The British Council jointly organised a seminar with CCCPE (China Centre for Comparative Politics and Economics) and the Capital Institute of Social & Economic development in Beijing on 31 October 2007. The main theme was "Develop the Social Economy and Build a Harmonious Society". The presentations for this seminar are now available for free download on Discover Social Innovation website.

The Social Entrepreneur Cultural Festival organised by Future Social Entrepreneur Association opened on 10 December 2007 in the Anniversary Hall of Peking University. The British Council gave special support to the event by showing two UK social enterprise documentaries on the opening ceremony.

Vanke and the British Council jointly organised the "Horn Action II- China-UK Comparative Study Conference on Housing Provision for Low-income Urban Residents" and a press conference in Beijing on Dec 12 & 13, 2007. In 2006, Beijing Jiu Xian Qiao Street Work Committee set up a community volunteer association named and symbolized by 鈥渓ittle red cap鈥.
