The UK's first annual social investment conference, 'Good Deals', was held in London on Tuesday 6th May. Presented by the Office of the Third Sector (OTS) in partnership with National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA) , Good Deals brought together a wide range of high profile contributors to debate and learn about new opportunities for financing social change.

The new £75 million national youth volunteering programme vinvolved begins in April 2008. The aim of the programme is to involve 500,000 more young people aged 16-25 to volunteer in England over the next three years.

The Annual Skoll Awards for Social Entrepreneurship (SASE) support social entrepreneurs whose work has the potential for large-scale influence on critical challenges of our time: environmental sustainability, health, tolerance and human rights, institutional responsibility, economic and social equity, and peace and security. The winners will be provided funding, which is generally structured as a $1 million award paid out over three years.
